Solar Fan Overrides
Off Button – Shuts the fan off. This setting remains at the off position until another fan speed button is pressed.
Half Speed Button – Limits the fan speed to a maximum of 50%. This setting also prevents the boost mode from operating. This setting remains in this position until another button is pressed.
Full Speed Button – Allows the Powertrack controller to boost the fan speed automatically. Under this setting the fan speed will be dictated by the solar energy available. This setting remains in this position until another button is pressed.
Damper Overrides
Open Button – Opens the damper fully for a 20 minute period. After the 20 minutes the system reverts back to the automatic setting.
Closed Button – Closes the damper fully for a 20 minute period. When the dampers are closed the fan is automatically stopped. After the 20 minutes the system again reverts back to the automatic setting.
The fan is automatically programmed to stop if the dampers are less than 20% open.
Automatic control programming - (Control Strategy)
Summer (May - July)
The Sola-boost Windcatcher dampers are pre-programmed to open automatically when the temperature is above 16° centigrade, and open a further 20% for every 1 degree rise in temperature. At 21° the dampers will be fully open. The dampers are programmed to fully open at midnight to provide night-time cooling during summer, and will return to automatic temperature control at 6.00am.
Spring / Autumn (March & April / August - October)
The ventilators are pre-set to open automatically when the temperature exceeds 19° centigrade, and will open by 20% for every 1 degree rise in temperature. No summer night-time cooling is included.
Winter (November - February)
The dampers are programmed to remain closed below 22° centigrade and are pre-set to open 10% automatically when the temperature exceeds 22° centigrade and open a further 10% for every 1° temperature rise to a maximum of 40% open. Again no summer night-time cooling is included.
Internal Temperature Sensor
When the internal temperature is below 20° the fan will not run.
